Reception to Year 2 – £5,250 per term, Year 3 is £5600 per term, Years 4-6 is £6,050 per term and Year 7-13 is £7,475 per term.

Fees include lunches, resources, off-site holidays, and extra-curricular activities. 

5% reductions are made on the fees for younger siblings and children of the clergy, but no reductions are made for pupils in Reception, Year 1 and 2.

About the school

Forest School is located in Walthamstow in the borough of Waltham Forest (the North-East of London) so it is well connected for pupils to travel to from various locations around London. It is surrounded by Epping Forest and has 50 acres of ground with 25 acres which are dedicated to sports fields.  

It has a rich history and with a distinguished alumni, the school is known for more than just academics. 

They played an important role in the development and creation of Association Football. The school’s influence in the game also led it to be the leading club (Forest Club) at that time.

Is Forest School good for you?

Forest school is a child centred school which promotes a clear set of values about discipline, growth, diversity, community and learning. Forest school wants pupils to show a readiness to be forward-thinking and adaptable. 

For aspiring students and visitors, the school holds a number of events throughout the year. These events are for pupils and parents to be given a tour of the school and to talk to staff and other students.

The open day for 4+, 11+ and 13+ takes place on Saturday 1st October 2022. 

Admissions

The entry points for admissions are 4+, 11+, 13+ and 16+. The school has a comprehensive registration that includes overseas registration, sections for medical history and special needs. Applicants with special needs or medical history must indicate on the registration form as this may halt the admission process if not properly stated. 

There are 48 places for a child to join the pre-preparatory school. Registration for 2023 September entry ended on Tuesday 20th September 2022. 

Approximately 140 places are available to pupils in 11+. Registration ends 25th November 2022. 

There is no set number of reservations for 13+. It is compulsory that 13+ and 16+ register online before sitting the exams. Registration ends Monday 13th January 2023. 

Registration for Sixth Form ends Friday 14th October 2022.

Entrance exams and interviews

Assessment for 4+ is held between Monday 26 September – Friday, 7 October 2022. The assessment involves a series of low-key activities like sequencing, naming simple shapes, counting and colour recognition. 

The entrance exams for 11+ takes place on 6th January 2023. It involves a one hour, non-calculator maths paper, with an English and writing paper. 

Entrance exams for 13+ takes place on Tuesday 31st January 2023. Pupils will sit test papers in English and Mathematics. Shortlisted applicants will have an interview with the head of the Middle School. 

Sixth Form exams consist of a 45-minute critical thinking assessment and then students are also given one hour to writes a response to two essay prompts. This will take place on Saturday 12th November 2022.
